Dr. Gerardo Javier Villacreces Carbo was born in Quito on July 29, 1965. Part of his primary and high school education was made at Colegio Intisana. He graduated and obtained his Lawyer and Doctorate degrees at the Catholic University of Quito with grades equivalent to A+ in his thesis about Occasional contracted overdrafts; A+ defending his doctorate thesis and A+ in his final graduation grades. He was granted second place in a local Story Telling and Poetry Contest, in the tale section. He is a main associate and President of the Law Firm Villacreces Carbo & Asociados.- Dr. Villacreces has attended various specialization courses, such as one on Mercantile Trusts by Dr. Sergio Rodríguez Azuero, who is one of the most outstanding lawyers specialized in bank and trusts in Latin America; as well as a course on Negotiation taught by Harvard University (CMI International Group), Cambridge Massachussets, USA..

He has occupied several positions: legal advisor in Quito for Contileasing S.A., Financonti S.A. (a company that specializes in Factoring), Almaconti S.A.; Legal Director and Attorney of Banco Continental S.A., and Legal Manager and Attorney of Banco del Agro Finagro S.A.. Dr. Villacreces has provided legal services as legal consultant at Amerafin Sociedad Financiera, and he has been a Lawyer and General Manager of a foreign company involved in the transportation of liquefied gas - Taurogas Shipping S.A. He has been Legal Representative of the most important shareholder of this company as well as lawyer and General Manager of the National Oxygen Company Enox S.A. Presently, he is a legal advisor of important companies such as CNT S.A. (the national telecommunication company), Banco Capital S.A., Equinorte S.A., Comercial Hidrobo C. Ltda., Ecuamotors S.A., Constructora Hidrobo Estrada C. Ltda., Hyunmotor S.A., Importaciones Decofer S.A.., Fundación Saltamontes, Asesoría Profesional Aseprofe C. Ltda., Los Molles Cia. Dr. Villacreces has written some articles at the economic tabloid “ El Financiero” and he writes at a legal magazine called Revista Novedades Jurídicas (Tribuna Democrática) published by a Publishing house specialized in legal editions. He has been invited to write at the El Comercio and El Hoy newspapers, as well as at the Pacificard Magazine and OB Objetivo magazine, (the latter is related to marketing, communication and business); he was an alternate director of Banco Aserval S.A… Dr. Gerardo Javier Villacreces Carbo has been involved in banking and Business matters for over 20 years, and in many occasions he has been the legal representative at important businesses involving large sums of money and has achieved successful results. He has participated in several forums and conferences on current legal matters, and has been invited to Peru to attend the first business encounter of Peruvian and Ecuadorian entrepreneurs, held in Lima. Likewise, his Law Firm was the only participant along with the Ecuadorian-Peruvian Commerce Chamber in the first Business encounter held at Cemexpo with participants from Ecuador and Peru. He has been interviewed by various written media, TV channels and radio stations where he has been asked to express his opinion on relevant matters. Recently he offered conferences in Quito, Guayaquil and Portoviejo about the tax declaration on personal patrimony, and he has been invited by the Professional Management Association of the province of Pichincha and the Superintendency of Companies to give lectures on inheritance law regarding Society Law both in Quito and Guayaquil. Dr. Villacreces is a specialist in legal advising for banking, negotiation, factoring, society matters, company, contracts, tax law, economic law, trusts, mediation and arbitration.
